Lecture Overview 1/19/2012

On Thursday, January 19, 2012 in ECT 201 the lecture talked about "Binary to Decimals", problem solving, and a few other things from the powerpoint on Blackboard. Mr. Agrawal did a few examples of "Binary to Decimals" on the board. Then we went on to do a few examples from the book that can be found on pages 16-17. I'm still not to sure that I understand "Binary to Decimals" so if anyone understands it and feels that they can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. The following test has been made available in Assignments on blackboard: Quiz-1 (Due Tuesday, 01/24/2012, by 11:59:59 pm. Based on Chapter-1 of the textbook.) Our first programming assignment is also available in Assignments on Blackboard: Programming Asg-1 (Due Tuesday, 01/24/2012. Chapter-1, Exercise 5, 8, 11) START EARLY DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE!

  1. I didn't really get the binary decimal examples either. So I'm going to try to go over more of those problems with my group. Those problems we did out of the book helped me finish our first assignment though. It's pretty much the same material.

  2. The binary code problems are fairly easy its just the algorithms that I really don't care for I guess i just need to put a little more thought into it

  3. Ashley, i will be glad to help you with the binary decimal. But you need to try figure it out yourself at first after the lecture, maybe you can have a clue to it.

  4. I have a good understanding of the binary system since I have already taken some classes dealing with it. Just try to go over the binary system yourself first and if you still do not understand use your group members.

  5. I like doing the algorithms they seem pretty simple if you know what the problem is telling you to do. As far as the binary system goes the one time I took a class and learned that it was not to bad for me.

  8. I thought the binary system was difficult at first but after trying a couple examples it become a little easier to understand.

  9. the binary system is ok but it takes me a little longer to understand certain things in this class. Hopefully i can do better continue to try to work hard and succeed in this course
